Loni stood stark-still. She didn't respond to Noko or Taliesin, too frightened to do anything. Oh God... what have I gotten myself into?!
At that moment, she would rather face Velsar and Edrian at the same time than be standing this close to that monster. She would have run right away, but something in her made her stay. Eve is way too much of an influence on me. she thought humorlessly.
"Noko." she managed to say quietly. "Noko you need to run now. Run home."

Karkais dashed towards Taliesin without another breath's hesitation. He suddenly put all of his momentum into a leap covering an amazing speed. Taliesin didn't make one slight move as he was hurdled by the beast. Karkais sailed to about five feet on the opposite of Taliesin. He didn't bother turning back towards Taliesin but instead focused his attention on the two onlookers, who stood about ten feet ahead of him. Loni stood stiff with a hint of bravery boiled up inside of her while Noko persisted her that they should both run. Karkais examined their smaller frames and laughed to himself as an attempt to infuriate Loni. He wasn't going to underestimate Loni for he had done that to a woman before; a bounty huntress named Evelyn and he now had a scar slicing through his back to show for it.
Taliesin slowly turned to see that Karkais was feasting his eyes on the two women. "Your fight is with me," he said with little worry in his voice.

Loni's muscles got tighter, every hair on her body rigid. At that point she would rather face a million Edrians than be stared at by this beast.
"Noko, dammit, get back." she said through hre teeth. "Run."
She stepped forward against every instinct. "Taliesin." she said, trying to make her voice strong. "Taliesin, I've come to help you."
Just run away Loni. Run. Don't get involved. Leave while you still have a chance. Just run. A small voice spoke to her. NO! No I have to stay! Running NEVER helps me! I have to stay! I have to prove I can stay!

"You're a fool for thinking that you can help him," Karkais said with a bit of humor in his tone. In reality, he was afraid Taliesin wouldn't need help but he concealed his doubts well with the wide-spread grin across his snout. He focused on Noko who was giving off an aura of fear that only a keen sense could be aware of. "You'd be wise to run now becuase I'll enjoy mutilating your body after you're dead. Ripping you limb from limb as I feed off of your fresh blood. I can smell the sweet taste of it from here; I can hear your heart pumping it throughout your body; It's making my mouth water," as he said it, a stream of saliva rolled down the side of his muscular snout.
Taliesin felt a hint of sadness as he realized a mistake he may have already made. Perhaps it was unwise of him to let Loni follow him; it was leading her into danger and it was something he now regreted for an unapparent reason. He couldn't put his mind on it, but she seemed familiar somehow, though he knew they had never crossed paths before. He regretted not leaving her behind in his dust but he wasn't certain why; he rarely contradicted another person's will becuase it wasn't his place to decide what they should do; their lives were their own to live. "Leave them alone," he said firmly.
"Let them choose their own paths," Karkais replied, "like you did with Evelyn." Instantly after his words an eyrie and strong presence of hatred could be felt surrounding everyone. A look of shock went through Karkais' eyes for a split second. Though Taliesin did not move or make any changes in his expression, somehow, it was clear the hatred was coming from him. It was the last thing Karkais expected; from his past dealing with Taliesin, he had observed him to be cool and calm always and never before had he seen or felt any kind of emotion from Taliesin.

Loni was filled with rage toward this beast. How dare he speak to Noko in this way.
"Now you listen to me." Loni's voice was low and strong. "You cannot talk to Noko that way. I'm very familliar with... things like you. I've met too many in my life, and I am not going to let this sweet, helpful girl be harmed by you in any way. This man and I, we are armed and we wish to face you, but Noko is helpless, and she should just go home." She emphasized the last part as a not-so-subtle hint to the girl behind her.
OOC: should we wait for Keeney?

ooc: let's just assume Noko is scared stiff..
ic: Karkais didn't bother to listen to Loni's words as he slowly turned to face Taliesin, who was still emitting the hateful sensations towards the beast. "It would be wise of you not to speak of her name," Taliesin said calmly. The smile on Karakais' snout was wiped clear and the fire in his villainous eyes dimmed, who was Evelyn to him? I've never seen him like this, he thought to himself as he absorbed the powerful aura surrounding them both. And what difference is it to him whether I kill Loni and Noko? He's killed just as many innocent men, women, and children for that matter. He killed them becuase they got in his way or tried to stop him and yet he'll tell me not to harm these two? "I'm going to finish this long-lasting fued between us once and for all," Karkais growled holding his kamas at the ready. Taliesin gripped his sword with the little anticipation that settled within him. This was one target that he could not go light on but he was still unsure if he should use his sword's power or not.

OOC: Hi! Yes, Noko has been scared stiff as a board! Though, I don't think she wants to be anymore thanks to those 'encouraging' comments from Karkais.
IC: Noko couldn't help but cring at the thoughts that Karkais put in her mind. Once again her stomach performed all kinds of flips and turns. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself and her apparently fear-covered aura. A ghost of a smile painted itself upon her lips, and she opened her eyes again, "I'm sorry Loni. I won't get involved much, but...I won't go home either. If I can't help fight I can certainly try to provide a bit of support." She put on a large smile and jumped up and down, yelling, "Go Taliesin! You can do it!" He didn't really need her to say that but she felt like saying it anyway. It certainly helped her forget about fear as much, by focusing on the bounty hunter's movements. She shot Loni an apologetic glance, and hoped she would understand. This was the first time Noko had ever seen ANYTHING exciting happen. It was also one of the first times she felt her life was about to end, but the feeling retreated into the depths of her mind. She knew it was still possible, but she decided to remain positive in this situation.

ooc: Keeney!! You posted! *hugs Keeney* lol
ic: Taliesin and Karkais both were olivious to Noko's cheers; they were staring into each other eagerly awaiting the fight. Once again the two of them emitted an aura and the surrounding area seemed to darken around the two. Taliesin gripped his sword and raised his strength to his fullest capabilities. Taliesin's eyes glinted blue light as he readied himself to combat the deadly beast before him; the smallest mistake would be fatal in this battle. Karkais' powerful body rippled with his flexing muscles and the fire in his eyes burned brighter then ever; he knew this would be the fight that would stay in his mind forever; He would either be slayed by this notorious assassin or go on killing the rest of his long-lasting life. Karkais opened his brutal jaws and raised his head up towards the skies and the most blood-chilling, nightmare-inducing war cry was heard; the heartless beast was now ready for his revenge; he was as bloodthirsty as he had ever been before. The war cry did little to throw Taliesin off of his immense concentration; he was determined and he was not planning on a failed attempt; this would be his time to exact his well earned revenge.
A flash struck downward on Karkais; Taliesin was upon him without a moment's notice but had failed to get a clear shot; Karkais had dodged it to the side. The monstrous figure swung his kama towards Taliesin with such speed it nearly exceeded the mind's imagination. Taliesin spun around it, bringing his sword across at Karkais, who quickly blocked it with a loud clanging of metal. The two of them suddenly entered into a dead-on-battle toe-to-toe; their weapons soared at each other with incredible agility. They stood their ground as they aggressively jabbed, blocked, deflected, and countered. The clashing metal left sparks flying through the air as they opposed each other with as much hatred and strength that they could muster. Even the cool headed Taliesin mustered a rare look of fury upon his face. It was a shocking sight to Karkais but he was too far into the moment to think anything of it.
The feirce noise of conflicting weaponry ceased suddenly as a kama swiftly sliced into Taliesin's abdomen. Taliesin grunted and jumped back and relief came over Karkais; he was certain victory would be his now; he now had the upper hand and he was going to see to it that nothing would get in his way. "You're dead," he growled stepping closer to his wounded foe. Taliesin felt his stomach for the blood that was seeping through his cloak; it seemed to be only a small slice, but unfortunately, even the smallest difference could be exxagerated in a fight of this magnitude.
He resumed his former fighting posture with his sword held tightly in front of him. Karkais laughed as he saw the persistance in his feared opponent. It amazed him to see the "Devil's Assassin" bleed, "I actually am going to defeat you," he said with anticipation, "you actually had me worried that you beat me. I should of known that no mere assassin could match my own skill," he said with one last laugh; he too resumed his fighting position. "How should I finish this?" he whispered to himself in a snake-like voice.
Karkais dashed suddenly without warning towards his patient foe. His kama swung upwards with a flash. Taliesin easily jumped back, evading the attack. He quickly countered with a jab with the tip of his sword. The speeding sword came to a quick halt with a loud clang; Karkais used his remaining kama to stop it. Taliesin silently gritted his teeth as he pushed harder; Karkais remained standing as a flaring grin covered his snout; he was obviously superior in strength against his wounded opponent. Taliesin was now at quite a disadvantage as he pressed on even harder. "What's the matter," Karkais boomed with humor in his voice, "too strong for the feeble assassin?" Taliesin ceased his force into Karkais and stood back, "It seems that even the devil has underestimated you." A curious look came across the beast's face, "the devil?" Taliesin made no reply but stepped back even further.
ooc: Keeney, the prequel is still going on FE but I wasn't sure if you were going to be back there ever so I had you leave the alleyway.. and I also did the same for Fox; I left Ska in the Motel hallway.. I would love for you to rejoin it if you think you are interested; afterall, it wouldn't be the same without you..

OOC: It's still going? Awesome! When you deleted your account I was under the impression that it was over but if you're back over there I'll definately get to it! ^^
IC: Noko's eyes did their best to follow the fighters' movements. She was lost in the energy of the two, speechless with worry, fright, excitement, and awe. Every now and then a thought would fly through her mind like 'How'd he do that?' or 'Oh no! Look out!' and at one point 'Maybe we should bandage him up after this'.
When Taliesin began stepping back, the girl was more confused than she had ever been. What exactly did he mean and what was he doing? She was under the belief that Taliesin had won, but wasn't sure, and it was even more confusing still that he had been called "The Devil's Assassin". Of course, being the daft girl that she was Noko only grew excited when she heard Taliesin's nickname. He must be very strong to have a name like that. She thought, as she began pulling away from the strange trance she had been in.
Other tidbits of thought came to her through the strange silence. Taliesin's going to be a hero after this, and I got to see it with my own eyes! But...if he's called The Devil's Assassin maybe he'll just disappear without a trace. Maybe I could ask him some questions after this! Like how long has he been an assassin! And how much he had to work to become so skilled! Wow there are so many questions I don't know where to start. Without realizing it, Noko began smiling so brightly that she could have put a lightbulb to shame.
OOC: Maybe we should wait for Sadie-chan.

OOC: sorry, been busy IC:
Loni, move. Help him. He needs help. You should help him. Don't be a wallflower, Loni! She urged herself to move, to help, to do ANYTHING, but she just stayed frozen, rooted to the spot. God, Loni, you're always like this. DO something! Don't just stand there like an idiot! She mentally badgered herself like she often did to other people.
You've looked evil in the face and fought before! Why can you only fight at the last minute, after someone you love is in dire peril? Is that the only thing that moves you? You're just pathetic, Loni. Pathetic and useless. You'll never be a knight, unless you get off your ass and fight!
"God dammit." she muttered to herself. "Hey Taliesin! You need some help?" It took a great effort to even say this, but she knew that in a matter of moments, whether he wanted her to or not, she'd be fighting that thing...

Karkais laughed at Loni's inquery, "you think you can help?" he asked humorously keeping his back to her. "Don't get in harm's way," Taliesin replied to Loni. There he goes again,Karkais pondered, what's wrong with him? He's never gave a rat's a**about anyone before, Karkais thought dumbfounded, "you're pathetic. What happened to the feared assassin? You've killed children that have gotten in your way before and you honestly care what happens to Loni?" Karkais gripped his kamas tightly as the confusion aggrevated and irritated him to no end.

OOC: Garg, really no clue what to do other than what I've been doing, and it's starting to feal repetitive. oh well.
BTW, Shmoie is gonna be joining as Eve, Loni's "dear old mammy" ^^
IC:
"Taliesin, I'm offering you my help as a knight. Civillians are in danger, and I am obligated to take action." Loni told him through gritted teeth, holding her ground. "You cannot tell me to stay out of harm's way. If I were to leave, I would be turning my back on my duity. Now, as much as I'd LIKE to leave, RIGHT NOW, I can't. If it had stayed between you two, I could have, but he thretened Noko, and I am required by oath to deal with the situation accordingly." If there's one thing I've learned from Eve, it's duity. "Sir," she forced, now adressing Karkais, "I request that you submit and leave town, or I will be forced to take offensive action."

ooc: I'm so excited! YAY FOR EVE!! ;D
ic: Karkais eased up on his stance and his angry glare at Taliesin diminished. He spun around standing straight up as he did, "do you wish to fight me or do you wish to stand their pleaing like a coward?!" he boomed thunderously. His height and frame was far superior to hers as he stood more then two feet above her and weight was atleast twice as much as hers. His muscular frame rippled with intensity as he stared down upon her with his piercing crimson eyes.
He looked up to the side of the dusty road to see a two story motel, by the looks it had been vacant for years. His beastly figured leapt up to the roof with half-hearted effort. Taliesin wasted no time pushing himself into a jump; he looked to have a bit of a tougher time as he stumbled when he landed on the very edge of it. Karkais stood across from him with his kamas once again being held ferociously. "Your time ends here," Taliesin said coolly with his sword at the ready. The both slowly began circling around the roof opposite of each other. "You are quite the arrogant one," he rumbled, "but do you remember what happened last time we were on the roof of an inn?" he sneered. "Huh," Taliesin's eyes became intent on his target, "I should've dispatched you then."

Loni was startled by their abrupt exit from the area. Looking nervously from side to side, she dashed toward the inn to stand two stories below them, unable to reach them. God dammit. This always happened. Something would happen, she would try to help, and then she'd end up being useless. How could I ever help, anyway? In the end, somebody else saves the day. She felt very small and helpless, a feeling that she knew well.
OOC: meh, not much to say
