Well...Heres a three avvie post for you. These guys are for a new story I'm working on. Its still in the very preproductions stages. Its an alegory depicting the human struggle with good and evil, seen through the lense of my own worldview as the decision between God and Satan. But my goal is to write it in such a way that it appeals more to the matter of the human condition than that of faith, while subtly communicating my own ideas on the human condition. Once I start writing you guys can be the judges of my success in that but for now, let me introduce the three main characters: Rhett (my personal favorite): Tempter First Class, member of the Lowest Circle. Rhett has been around a long long time and he has led many souls to the Father Below. Each piece of jewlery he wears represents a souls he has won. outside the world of gaia avatars he is about 6'5'' and very thin. His voice is whispery and deep, and when he walks you can faintly hear the sound of chains. Hes your standard demon, he doesn't really have any magically power so to speak, only influence over humans. He has quite the sarcastic wit and is verbally vicious on average. His name means "wise counsel" I love irony This is Mercari: Spirit, First Class, member of the high circle. As you can guess, Mercari is the polar opposite of Rhett and acts as the good force in the story. He is visually the opposite as well, seeming to glow and even to float on occasion. His voice is soft and lyrical. The gold patterns on his skin glow and fade with the beating of the heart he is attached to (the human he is trying to win). He is a loving and gentle spirit, never forceful but always present. His name means "To trade" which makes a lot of sense at the end of the story. And Felix: The human in the balance. Hes a pretty average human, magician as the story is concerned. Hes bookish, and around 5'9ish. Upper Class. Hes not boistrous, but not meek either and strives for political and financial gain and success in his life. The story will chronile the battle between Rhett and Mercari for Felix's eternal soul...stay tuned.

OOC: Oh my word I can let them out...this could be dangerous.
Lio: *in bikini top and cut off jeans* I haven't been to the beach since we were tracking down that rogue sea serpent off the east coast.
Nate: *in just cut off jeans carrying surf board and djembe, surveying the developing crowd* Nice party, I approve.
Max: *Poses heroically on sand dune*
James: *returning to his original character, stands stoically in the water up to his knees*
OOC: wow James, having some integrity as a character huh?
James: Perhaps you're having some integrity as a creator.
OOC: Harsh...
Zeke: *walking with Opal I'm sure* I'm not sure how I feel about this...
Star: *sets to building a large and intricate sand castle*
Missy: *carrying bucket and shovel* Hey! Can I lend you a hand with that?
Star: I already have two. But I suppose I could use another one.
Deuce: *slowly walks onto beach carrying laptop case*...why am I here?
OOC: You have no idea how much better I already feel...they were eating me alive.

I like how Caspar is still Brier...hahaha anyways, This is Veronica, Nate's girl from the aforementioned backstory. Shes a basist, they were in their first band together and fell in love and were gonna stay together forever. Until she got pregnant...she was gonna abort the pregnancy, Nate convinced her to put the baby up for adoption, but the disagreement split them up and shortly after the baby was born she joined a different band and left... This is said daughter, Emily. Nate (with the adoptive parents permission) occasionally corresponds with her by letter. She sends him tickets and backstage passes to her recitals and he faithfully attends and takes her out to lunch afterward...Hes so cute...I wish the guys in my head were real... Child avatars are so hard...and Gaia's new system for hair is dumb. I want the band to exist again.

I like crazy. What I would say is pick what you're most comfortable with at first and then if the plot needs it you can over achieve and work with multiple characters. I don't actually know how well that works in this setting, but I imagine you could pull it off. I would lean toward head officer at this point.

Nate! Because he randomly decided to manifest a back story...complete with angsty self loathing (bc all of my characteres hate themselves...) and an illegitmate daughter with his girl in another band, who he is still completely in love with even though she left him. But they still get together when they're both in the same town...good job Nate, way to have some substance after your set dies.

Kay, so I'll have to check with Christine as to Nox's stance on this But heres What Blue Moon is all about, hang on to your seats, its gonna be a crazy ride!
Mission Statement: We will remedy the perversion of the ancient magic created by the bastardization of the races.
Explanation of the Mission Statement: They believe that when the world began there were only a few breeds of magical creatures. The ancient magic was then in a pure state and all the species were in a truly enlightened state (for werewolves this meant that every month they turned into the "true form" that Lio gets on Blue Moons). As time wore on species intermixed and changed and developed, stretching and corrupting the ancient magic whcich has lead to the corrupted state of the planet. The wolves believe that by eliminating the species labled "bastardized" the magic will be restored, The vortexes being the magic returning to itself...or something cool sounding like that. So they're out to destroy those bastards! Including Vampires (Being a post mortem mutation of another species) Probs the typical "evil" things like trolls and orcs, and half breeds, Maybe specific breeds of dragon or members of the fairy family (As I recall the Fae were nearly extinct...we could attribute it to Blue Moon, I think they work with the Guild on occasion).
So thats the idea, it gives us some story line potential. As for Characters, I need to check with Christine on this to be sure, But this is how I think it ill be oging down:
Lio leads the group with Nox, I don't know if Nox would take an official title, but he would be respected on the same level as Lio because of Lio's deep respect for him and his status as an ancient wolf. Then would be two or three who form the "leadership" her head officers, and then the rest of the wolves who follow along. As the story progresses Lio becomes more and more extreme, and she gets a little bit too extreme, at that point there would probs be a rift in the group and some would leave (Possibly Nox if I'm reading him right). So some characters who fully support Blue Moon and some would not. In this scenario Nox would leave and start a different group (or whatever he decides to do) and then probs end up with PH&NTASy somehow, mabes after meeting Leila.
So thats about it, as far as making characters a lot of our plot will come from relationships as they develop. So what you should think about is who wants to bark orders and who wants to follow them, in areas like research, we probs want a spy or two, some people who want to engage in a lot of combat, those who can communicate well for negotiations, any other talents you think might be useful. Some who just do grunt work...things like that. Think of how devoted you are to Lios quest to restore the ancient magic. Are you willing to wipe out huge numbers of lives? Do you care about the lives in the balance? Do you want to restore truth? Why? For your own gain, or the good of the community? Do you even care about truth or do you just enjoy blood shed? Another area for conflict could potentially be your opinions on humans and whether they should live or not, as well as whether you consider a werewolf still human or not.
Like I said, character relationships always affect plot greatly, but I think as far as plot goes. There would be longish periods of everyday life, interpsersed with character development and planning of raids/attacks/conquest of the world...you know typical stuff. Then as we near the full moon wolves become stronger even in their human form and would begin moving to attack spots at this location, we can do some cool fight stuff...etc...wipe out some species and things. There will also be some big festivals and things, like the Chinese moon festival, things like that, and I'm sure theres a huge festival with ceremonies and things right before a blue moon. So we can have some fun with that.
I know thats still pretty vague, but it should be enough to get started. So...profiles like this would be great:
Name: Blue Moon (she isn't Lio yet and shes cast aside her human name) Age: 40s Position: Leader Reason for becoming a member: She believes that her position as a Blue Moon makes her akey part of restoring true magic to the world. she is devoted to her cause above all else and nothing will sway her. She plans on spending the rest of her life elimminating bastardized races from the earth and will someday be restored to a "True Wolf" and then all wolves will reach the true form every moon. She is fully devoted to the cause and feels that the acts of brutality carried out are justified by the eventual good that will be accomplished by them. Skills/Abilities offered: Shes a very capable leader, and she maintains a low level of control during transformations so she is able to direct other wolves during raids/attacks. Opinion on humans: They should be pitied for their unenlightened state (unenlightened meaning being without magic) but allowed to live so long as they do not attempt to meddle with magic. Exceptions to this rule are humans born with magical abilities. Lio considers werewolves to be distinct from humans, but still feels deeply attached to them. Its a conflicted view point for her.
Something like that, feel free to go more detailed or less. Sorry its still a little vague but once we start throwing characters out there I can develop a more concrete plot. I hope this ridiculous monster post is helpful. Also Christine you should let me know Nox's opinion ASAP so I can nail that down as well.

I'm in too. Also, I started a thread called "Blue Moon" in Fantasy threads, its a Lio thing, intro included, it'd be sort of a spin off set of the PH&NTASy peeps, so if anyone's interested go on over and look.

Basically, I want to beef up Lio's back story, which includes Christine's werewolves of ness, mostly Nox...whatevs, anyways...Lio spends a long time as Blue Moon, the leader of an underground werewolf society. They are an elitist group of werewolves bent on destroying lesser races, mostly vampires. They consider themselves above humans, but have pity on their unenlightened minds, and enjoy their company most of the time. I'm still working out all of the kinks. But I have here a bit of a prologue, Some insight from Lio into her past, Nox is the gentleman mentioned
So I figure If y'all want to you can make werewolves that were members of Blue Moon, they may come up later in the PH&NTASy storyline, they may not...time will tell. You don't have to but I would enjoy it greatly! So anyways...prologue:
I don't remember much of those days. I spent my first moons running, from myself as much as my enemies. Like all of you I've been chased, beaten, cast aside by those that I once called my own. I spent many a night cold and alone, not yet knowing what I had become. My only knowledge came from dreams of crowds casting stones and calling "Monster!" and "Demon!". I ran on and on, at first lamenting my fate, thinking myself an unholy wretch. Until one night when I met another. I was walking through a quiet woods when I felt the moon coming. I bound myself to a tree, hoping to protect the nearby towns from my beastly instincts and I felt the power come upon me. Foolishly I fought it until my mind was drowned in the magic and I lost my grip on space and time. When I awoke I was in a strange place. I sat up and examined the room. It was a handsome homey place, though a bit disheveled. It smelled of incense which calmed and clouded my mind. A man entered and asked if I had need of anything. I was hesitant to answer and he said, "There are clothes in the closet and I have supper down stairs." and he bowed slightly and left. I stood, and found that my strength had returned to me. I dressed myself and ventured into the living room. He was stoking the fire and invited me to sit. I noticed Several peculiar traits about him that I won’t mention now. You will know in time, I sat on a chair behind him and he stood, inclining his head toward me ever so slightly and he sat across from me, “I’m glad it fits,” he nodded to indicate the dress I was wearing, “May I ask, why that one?” “You may, but I may not answer.” I answered, cautious, unsure if I were in the hands of a friend or foe. “You are wise child.” “I am hardly a child.” I answered, indignant, ignorant. “Compared to me you are.” Was all he said. And left, he returned with two bowls, he handed me one ad said, “You must be famished.” I took it and we ate in silence. Then he said, “You have great power, for one so young.” I asked him his meaning and he said, “Your barely out of your first year and you already show signs of greatness. Last night for example…” he trailed off, and my mind flashed to memories of an ancient tree, roots pulled from the ground, “You have great potential young one. If you stay away from harm.” I sensed great wisdom in him and looked him in the eye, lingering there for a moment, searching for the answers I was running from and whispered, “What am I?” “You are power.” He answered, “You are freedom. You are the wild spirit humanity foolishly hides and neglects.” There was a long and deep silence. I felt simultaneously lost and empowered. I was confused, yet I finally understood. Then I looked farther into those eyes, seeking the wisdom I so desperately longed for, the wisdom he said I had, and I asked – more to my own heart than his ears – “Who am I?” It was then the firelight flashed silver in my eyes and he saw truth in me as he whispered in awe, “You are Blue Moon.”
OOC: So that’s it, feedback welcome, anyone interested?
