ooc: Isnt that funny, you tell me about not being on every day and I'm gone for a week. xD
Ic: Rin watched from her spot in the rocks at the retreating figures. She was curious about the girl and her powers but kept still. She didnt see a need to stop the fight and as it turned out there were others in the area too. But when the peoples forms got too far away from her she stood up quickly balancing on the rocks. Rin didnt want to loose sight of her new curiosity, or the girls new friends. It was the demon that kept her from walking out into the open. Rin was sure that she already knew that she was there but wasnt keen and the idea of simply waltzing into plain sight.
ooc: Sorry too about being gone so long.

Ooc: coolei-o I think that Rin will pay a visit. = )
Ic: Rin was only a short distance away sitting in between two large rocks for a quick rest. The sound of voices was drifting towards her and she listened with interest. She didn’t know if she should get involved or not, for all she knew there may not even be a reason. Her hand rested on the hilt of her katana as she listened for the makings of a fight.

Ooc: very very x) Ic: Aruyon had turned around slowly to face the man when the mournful cry rose in the air. Borris perked his ears and turned his nose to the sky. He let out a long droning howl in response, it echoed across the sky before being suppressed by the falling snow. Aruyon was silent in respect but didn’t take her eyes off the man before her. They were still for a moment, and it was only when Borris sprang up that Aruyon made any movement.
Not hearing any response to his cry, Borris dashed off the investigate. He ran down the street away from the man as not to be stopped leaving Aruyon slightly confused still facing the man. She didn’t really know what to say to him. She was against the bandits, but that didn’t mean that she was helping the soldiers.
“Who wants to know?” she asked calmly in a low voice. Her blade was back in its sheath under her cloak, that would give her the element of surprise but this man seemed more dangerous than the bandits she had fought before.

Ooc: No problems, If no one else is going to join soon I think I'll go again.
Ic: The cloaked woman walked quickly down the street. She didn’t look like a woman, she looked like a man. She didn’t move or walk like a woman either and the wolf beside her only lessened her woman-like appearance. She was not well known in this town but who did know her feared her, either her or the wolf, she could never be sure. At the rate it was going, regardless who was feared, she would never be welcomed in any circumstance. It didn’t really bother her though. In fact she preferred to have a certain degree of fear. It kept the bandits out of her way, for the most part at least. Borris walked quietly next to her. His ears rotated around listening for other sounds as his eyes remained fixed ahead towards the commotion. He stopped, and the woman stopped too. His hackles raised as he let out a throaty growl. Suddenly a thin bandit ran out of a side ally skidding to a stop when he saw the pair. “You!” He said pointing his sword at the woman. Borris snapped at him making him take a quick step back. The woman stared at him from under her hood. “What are you waiting for?” She asked in a purposely deepened voice. The man said nothing but a voice called out from behind him. “He’s waiting for you to make your move.” A much taller man came and stood next to the first one. He crossed his arms in front of his chest. “Then we will be waiting here all day.” The woman said coolly. They stared at each other for a few minuets more before a smile came over the first bandits face. “Are you scared or something?” He asked mockingly “Are you?” The woman replied “Don’t count on it!” The man suddenly shouted lunging forward. The second man was behind him in an instant to back him up. Borris tried to bite the man’s leg but had to move out of the way of his sword. The woman drew a concealed blade out from under her cloak, an old long sword that was wrapped at the handle. She swung in it a wide ark to stop the first man’s attack. His sword was turned the wrong direction for her attack, the edge of her blade raced up the flat of his and past his hand guard making a easy cut across the chest. She turned with a fluid motion to continue her attack on the second man. He blocked her sword with a blade of his own and continued his movement forward trying to get a hold on her. The snow on the ground and in the air made quick foot work difficult. The woman couldn’t move out of the way in time and was snared by the hood of the cloak. The man ripped the hood off her head and stared in surprise. “What’s a woman --” He was cut off by the wolf leaping in with a snarl and sinking his teeth into the man’s leg. He let out a howl of pain but it was cut short by the woman’s sword. He fell to the ground without another sound. The woman put her hood back up as the wolf licked its chops. “It’s a good thing that bandits aren’t smart enough to attack more than two or three at a time huh?” She said ruffling the wolf’s mane like hair. He, of course, said nothing.

IC: It was the dead of the night when they started their attack. It wasn’t really a surprise, it never was anymore. The bandits attacked every night when they got good and drunk. When the snow fell the hardest and the darkness was a thick blanket across the city, but most of all because whoever they wanted to kill was at home. Glem was woken suddenly by a vigorous shaking. He almost fell out of the bed sputtering and cursing loudly. He looked about the tiny guard room until his eyes fell on a young boy, an enthusiastic new recruit named Joshua. “What do you want?” Glem growled. “The suns not even out yet.” “Sir, it’s the bandits. They’re attacking again.” Joshua said quickly. “They’re always attacking. I told you to wake me for an emergency.” Joshua rolled his eyes. “This is an emergency. It’s not just houses, it’s a guard tower. We need more men.”
Glem went silent for a moment before getting out of bed. He slipped into his uniform and stepped into his boots. Before he opened the door however he looked back a Joshua.
“I want you to go take the street to the militia quarters, wake the men. Do not take the wall.” He said sternly “Take the street.” Joshua looked at him questionably “The street? Sir wouldn’t it be safer to take the wall? It would be a lot faster--” “No! Do as you are ordered! Take the street.” Glem opened the door which let in a flurry of snow. He turned back once again but this time with a somber look on his face. “You understand that we cannot compete with them in this state, right? We are so few in numbers and morale that every skirmish we are beaten over and over again. That’s why the east section is in such bad shape. We don’t have enough of anything to take it back.” Joshua looked at the ground. Glem’s face hardened as he went out the door. “God speed” He shouted and the door closed behind him.
Joshua was all alone in the dark guard room, still looking at the floor. “I will get those men as fast as I can.” He said determined “But to do that I must take the wall.” He opened the door and stepped into the thickly falling snow. He saws Glem’s footprints going down the stone stairs into the street below. Joshua ran down them and looked around the corner to make sure that Glem wasn’t watching him to see if he would take the street or the wall. When he was sure that the coast was clear he ran back up the stairs and along the ramparts.
The wall followed the edge of the city and protected it from bandits, or at least it was suppose to. On the outside were the farms that supplied the city with most of its food, although nothing was growing this time of year. Little farm houses dotted the land along with animal sheds and wood piles. Looking down over the side of the wall he could see the houses that had been built right along the wall. The roofs were really close to the top of the wall. Joshua bet that he could climb up from them if he needed to. Suddenly a dark shape leap up at him from one of the roof tops with amazing speed. It was a wolf! It had come just the way that Joshua had thought he could. It gave a whine of surprise and the two bodies collided together and fell off the wall. The wolf recovered quickly and sprinted off into the city. Joshua stared off after it. “Damn it! So that’s how they’re coming over the wall!” He got to his feet and ran in the direction it had gone. In his haste he didn’t see the figure drop down over the wall after the wolf.
Joshua cursed. He had lost the wolf in the maze like streets and was way off track. He dashed down a street that he knew would take him to the militia quarters and let out an angry growl, but smiled in the irony of it all. He had taken the wall against orders to save time but as it ended up it only led to a longer detour. The situation was hopeless; the other solders were counting on him, why did he have to be so stupid? He scolded himself over and over again for not simply doing as he was told, but ran, blindly, into more trouble. He almost ran right into a group of three bandits running back from whatever they were doing. They were all strong, heavy set, men and all of them looked as if they could rip Joshua limb from limb. He skidded to a stop before hitting them, but he was thrown off balance. The bandits took pure advantage of the situation and shoved him to the ground. Joshua panicked and got to his feet as fast as he could, trying to draw his sword at the same time. The bandits howled with laughter, content with their new source of entertainment. Quivering with fear Joshua held his sword out in front of him as if hoping that it alone would scare them off. One of them raised his fist and struck out at Joshua. He closed his eyes, but the hit never came. Instead the bandit was yelling and screaming, waving his arm wildly trying to get the wolf of his other arm. It was clamped on pretty tightly shaking it’s head back and forth. Joshua took this opportunity and ran for his life. He ran strait down to the Militia Quarters and didn’t look back until he was well in side the door. “Need’s …help…” He gasped “Need’s…help.”
The wolf had disappeared into the shadows of the building and out of side to praying eye’s. The same black figure that had followed it over the wall was kneeling next to it in the snow. “Good boy, good job Borris.” Came a woman’s voice. The cloaked woman stood up and walked back into the street. “Let’s see who else we can bother.” She said beckoning it as she walked away.
OOC: Okay! This is my first thread here so tell me if I'm doing alright. This is all about a city that rests in the mountains and is constantly under attack by the bandits that live in them. The city's solders are not so great. They aren’t instructed by the king to do anything about it, so they only attack the bandits when they attack the city. So far this strategy hasn’t been working out so great for them. The East section of the city is pretty much in ruins and controlled by the bandits. Wolves populate the forests and mountains that surround the city and, because of the hard winters, have become man-eaters. I made this so you can be anyone: a solder, a bandit, a common person, or a free lancer like my character, Aruyon. Magic is welcome and so are animal speakers, or the like. Just, whatever you do, don’t make your character some God-like figure who can’t die and could kill everyone with a few words. That is all I ask. Thank you.

Ooc: sorry it took so long I've been really busy and it just slipped my mind. well anyways here's Fraya's profile;
age; 19 ability; water bending Fraya's a quite person she rarely ever speaks to anyone. Her long years at a karate dojo has make her a powerful martle artist. She has long brown hair that she always keeps in a thick, thight braid. She's short and thick in the body but looks well proportioned. She has blue eyes and prefers loose pant so she can be ready for a fight at any time. So far she can only move as much water as she could normaly hold. So she is always training her body. For now her powers are developing slowly but steadly geting better. Fraya cant make water, she can only bend it.
History: When she was 5 her mother gave up trying to mold her to her image and left her to an old family friend. The friend was too busy to take care of her and sent her to a bording school, that was around the time she developed her power. During the time she was at school she begain to exsplore her ability to bend water. She started by just moving small amounts in the bath room but soon begain to carry more water and even shape it. when she turned eight she joined karate dojo a little farther down the road form her school. She was absorbed in the art and skipped most of her school classes to learn from the sensei. When she was finally done with school she helped the sensei teach classes to pay for her own. When she got older she got a job at a coffe stand where she could have small water animals prance across the floor with out anyone really seeing. You can most often find her outside walking down the city streets hoping it will rain. likes: The rain, the ocean, pretty mush anything that has to do with water, milk, sparing with people, turky dinners, and chocolate icecream
Dislikes: Boys, really hot days, people who pick fight but really dont know what their doing, tomatos, and soda.

Cool so anyone can join? Alright here go nothing...(I hope)
A cool wind swept through the side ally causing people to pull their coats tighter around them. The early dawn sky was cloudy and dark giveng the streets a cold harsh feel. All the people walked down the streets quickly to their destination, all but one. Fraya sat quietly on a bench with her blue eyes gazing up into the grey mess of clouds. She wore a deep blue coat and loose white pants. Her foot tapped lightly on the wet ground. A green hat covered her dark brown hair that was pulled back neatly into a braid. She sat there for a while simply looking up into the sky not moving an inch. Not that is untill the steady fall of rain begain to beat down on her. She smilled slowly and stood up. She zipped her coat up past her chin and walked down the street, step by step ever so slowly.

Rin looked over at him. "You think so? I don't know. These soldiers seem very well trained. Judging by the fight that is going on right now I'd say that we would have a rough time even if both Lance and Jet were here." She looked out again at the guards placed strategically around. They hadn’t moved from before.
The rain pounded on her head and seeped into her clothing. She sneezed. “There are no good places to slip through…..” She said wiping her noise. Her voice trailed off into the storm. She grinned and decided to tell Ryu about what she had thought of. Turning back to Ryu she said “I could always try and call Seto to our aid. You remember Seto, the tiger.”

Ooc: Well if no one else is gonna go I will. =|
Ic: Rin crouched down and sat on her knees pulling her cloak closer around her. She shivered as the rain crept down her neck chilling her. She wiped water from her face and squinted in the darkness at the soilders outside. They blended really well in with the blured suroundings, she was amazed that she even saw them from the inside. But that was beside the point. They were safe...for now. And when they were no longer safe they would need a way out. She thought for a moment of what route to use but couldn't think of anything over the sound of the rain and the yell from the fight going on underneath them. She tried to concentrate but her mind kept wandering to the people in the tavern as the nosie drifted up to them. "If all else fails I could try and call Seto." Rin thought to herself
Content with her response to the problem Rin burried her face deeper into the collor of her cloak. She would wait to call him, not just because Ryu would disaprove of the idea but she didn't know if they would even need him.
ooc: Ohya Ryu, thats right I'm bringing Seto into this one! xD

Ooc: heh heh I swear you have it in for us xD
Ic: Rin rolled her eyes. "Deal." she said turning and running for the stairs. With and agile leap she cleared the stairs and touched down on the landing. She rushed to a door and kicked it open. Fortunatly it happened to be empty. As quickly as she coudl Rin put out all the candles plunging the room into total darkness. She felt her was to the window and opened it. Rain and wind rushed into the room quickly soaking Rin. Only then did she turn around to see if Ryu had followed.
When they both were ready Rin crawled out of the window and pulled herself onto the wooden roof shingles.

Ooc: Oh my word.......O.o
IC: Rin jumped to her feet as the noise erupted in the room. There was no way she was going to be recruited into the army. “We need to get out of here.” She said to the man next to her. She turned around and ran to a window. Rin was about to open it when she saw the solders out side, she cursed quietly to herself. "What to do. What to do." She muttered to herself.
The Korbite solders were quickly pressing in on the rebelling mercenaries, everyone here was either out skilled or out equip. A few people had given in or been beat down but the remainder were still going strong. suddenly Rin got an idea. She turned to the man "The roof." She said "We can hide on the roof."

Ooc; Yay people posted!!!
Ic; Rin opened her eyes at the sound of the door once again being opened. More water and wind swept through as some one came in. She watched the shadowy figure walk across the tavern calmly, she smiled. As soon as the figure sat down she gathered up the ends of her cloak and stood up. She walked quickly and quietly over and sat down next to the man who had just come in. "You look wet, and your very late." she said in a quite voice. " I think the storm may have gotten worse."

Ooc: oh oh I want to join pick me pick me!
Ic: Rin sat at a dirty wooden table in the corner of the tavern. Her fingers strayed to the hilt of the sword hanging at her side. Something was up. She could feel the tension swell in the room. Her black eyes peered out from under the hood of her cloak. She shifted in her seat slilghtly, her clothing was almost dry. Under her cloak she wore a long black shirt, almost lilke a tunic but not quite. Loose white pants covered her legs, she wrapped the brown cloak tighter around her. She wanted new clothing, her's looked so much different than that of the people she had seen. She shook her head and focused back on to the situation at hand. The men who had come in just rescently had unnerved the other merchents and travillers. Rin didn't quite understand why; I was raining of corse people would look for some where to stay. But maybe the question was not why had they come here but why they were out there in the first place. Rin tilted her head forward letting black hair fall into her face, she then turned her attention to the man with silver eyes. He seemed to be in pain. Rin wondered if his arm was broken or just hurt, she couldnt tell from where she was. She leaned back in her chair and pulled her hood over her eyes. Slowly she breathed in and out, braceing herself for whatever was to happen next.
Ooc: oh ya I really need pratice. It's been a really long time. =D

Ya, I know what you mean. For the most part I like to think of dragons with little magical abilities (if any) in the hopes that there is a logical and accepted theroy about their existance. The same does not normaly apply to other mythical creatures though. ^ ^ Ya I know, I'm a geek.
