Sadria rolled her eyes, not really caring to retort to the nickname. "Well, you know it was a long time ago, but I'll do my best. So..."
****
A very small girl with long brown hair and a dusting of freckles across her nose sat at the foot of a tree, pulling mushrooms out of the forest floor and placing them in a small, woven bag. The tree was very large, dwarfing the girl further. She kept glancing off in one direction in the forest, looking wistful. On her face she wore a snub nosed scowl, topped off by a smudge of dirt across one pale cheek.
"Hmmph. Why CAN'T I go over to the other side of the forest! I never had to stay away before!" she grumbled to herself, stuffing another white headed mushroom into her bag. "He thinks he can tell me what to do. I'll show him. I'll go over there. What could be so bad, anyhow?" Using the tree to lean on, she stood up and dusted the dirt off of her behind. With stubboorn determination clear in her young face, she stomped off through the brush.
"I can do as I please! I shouldn't have to be ordered about. He's not my father! Nobody can tell me what to do." She continued to rant to the trees, her small fists clenched around the handle of the bag. "I will not take orders from anyone!"
She was so absorbed in her troubles, she did not realise that the plants and trees around her were becoming encreasingly more charred and blackened. But when she went to put her foot down on a log and it crumbled benieth her slipper, she looked down from the treetops and around the fire scoured flora that surrounded her.
Her voice faltered, and she stopped babbling. Her large amber eyes gazed about the ravaged scene. She continued on cautiosly, beginning to realise why she had not been alloweed to come to this place. The air going into her lungs felt dry, and smelled of charcoal. The small hands holding the bag held even tighter, sorrow and horror beginning to grip her.
She was about to turn back, leave this place and never tell she had been there, when she saw something shift uncomfortably a few yards away. Slowly and carefully, she made her way toward what she now recognised as a person. There was something small and gray laying on the person's chest, but it did not look to be attacking her. It rather seemed to be trying to comfort her.
Realising that this person had to have been hurt in the fire, she sprinted forward toward the other girl. She knealed down looking her in the face. She appeared to be a young girl as well. She was badly burned, and looked tired. The other girl let out an exclaimation of surprise, but did not move away. The brown haired girl placed her hand on her forehead, which produced another yelp.
"Oh! Sorry! Are you alright? I didn't mean to hurt you!" she exclaimed drawing back.
The injured girl nodded weakly, but the small creature darted away. "Huh? What was that?"the brown haired girl asked, before explaining, "My name's Sadria. What's yours?"
"L... Limlight..." the burned one replied, sounding groggy. Limlight then fel into a fit of coughing, and seemed to black out.
"Oh no! What do I do? What do I do!" Sadria cried out, biting her lip. She was much too small to carry Limlight on her own. All she could do was run back home and get help.
"I'll run as fast as I can!" she offered to the unconcious girl, pulling the sash from around her waist and tying it to a nearby tree to mark the spot.
OOC: Well, I'm not done with the post, but I'll be back to finish it later! <^.^>;
