The character is pretty far from where they are, in my mind. I don't think they'd go looking for the character unless they were close to were s/he is. Let's give it a bit longer, and if adt doesn't come back, we can feed him to the zombies. (I apologize for going along with the kill-your-character idea if you come back, adt.) And ok, ok! Slick's stats:
Hair: dark. of course. It's not incredibly long, but it IS shaggy. It has a slight curl to it. Skin: pale. (I bet you couldn't see THAT one coming... >.<) Eyes: eerie dark blue. In bright light they're a shade of violet. Build: slender, but strong. (yet again, I bet you didn't see THAT coming from miles away, no sir!) Style of dress: he's a greaser, so sleeveless shirts, dark blue jeans (sometimes black leather pants instead) and a black leather jacket. Notes: Slick has a cunning-looking face, with sharp angles to it. He has a mouth that has been described as "infuriating" and also as "attractive", depending on who you talk to, being he smirks more than he smiles. When he does really smile, it's soft, and his eyes get a tender look to them, hence why he smirks all the time. His mode of transportation is a motorcycle. He's also very intelligent for a greaser; he actually does his schoolwork usually, and doesn't mind reading. In one particular fight with a soc, he quoted Shakespeare after the soc called him a "bedswerver". "A bedswerver, am I? Well then come, Tybalt, king of cats, will you walk?" He keeps a switchblade in his back pocket. (those are what they're called, right? >.<)
Happy now, Sadria? Well, Ladybug? Candy? Will you have him?

Corbitt laughed, trying to imagine Jenny and Penny as little girls, not to mention throwing rocks at Carter and Ben. It was sheerly ridiculous, which made it wonderful. He caught his breath and leaned on his hands, looking at her fondly as she rambled. There was something about her that always managed to get a smile on his face. He liked to smile. "They kinda got mad at us...." She continued with another giggle. "But gosh that was a long time ago! Seems like forever." A soft smile pulled at Corbitt's lips. "Time goes quick." he said. "For me, anyway." "Yeah?" she replied with a grin. "I think it's prob'ly that way fer most folks. Course, I wouldn't really know!" Corbitt shrugged. "I think it just depends. Always runnin' around, not really being in one place for long, I know time really moved, then. Maybe it'll slow down a little, now that you and Penny are letting me rest my feet a little." "I think a little rest now an' then's good fer ya." Jenny began. "An', well, I sure am glad you boys asked ta stay with us." A soft smile pulled at her lips. "I'm glad, too." Corbitt answered, unable to offer any other reply. His eyes once more lighted on hers, but somehow this time he wasn't embarrassed. Abruptly his thought process was interrupted by a weight on his shoulder and a familiar set of gently-blunt claws. Looking down, the creature known solely as 'the Lizard' was sitting there, looking like an emperor surveying his kingdom. "You're supposed to be outside." Corbitt told it mildly. Jenny giggled again. "If Penny catches sight o' that in here, she'll have a fit. Course, I doubt she's gonna be back downstairs till mornin'." "Yeah, but it's the principle of the thing." Corbitt said, carefully grasping the reptile around its scaly middle and getting to his feet. He spoke to it again; "You've GOT to learn to stay outside, you troublemakin' fool. Penny'll find a way to catch you one of these days, and then you'll be breakfast." Nudging the door open with his foot, he rather unceremoniously reintroduced the ambitious emperor to a landscape he might actually be able to conquer. Jenny laughed aloud--a clear sound--and pulled her blanket around herself. "Well, I jus' wonder what kinda daddy you'll be someday." She said suddenly. "What?" Corbitt reacted, giving her a wide-eyed look, with a crooked, confused smile. "Y'all are so strict with your lizard, I mean. All discipline, you are." Jenny said with her usual sweet smile. Corbitt laughed quietly, closing and locking the door. "That lizard has absolutely no connection with me, except that it follows me wherever I go." "Aw, you know I'm jus' teasin' you." Jenny said "Yeah." Corbitt replied, still struggling with the thought of being a father. He saw no reason to be a father, unless... He deliberately cut off his thought process. It could only lead to one place, and that once place would make his cheeks burn. "It's getting late." he said suddenly, to get his mind back to the present. "And at least you should get some rest." he added, making his way back to the corner of the room where he usually balled up to sleep. "I s'pose yer right." Jenny sighed. She laid down and snuggled into her covers, making Corbitt smile in spite of himself. "G'night, Jenny girl." he said softly. "'Night Corbitt..." Jenny answered. "Sleep tight." Corbitt closed his eyes, knowing he wouldn't sleep nearly at all. He had far too much to think about for that. But that was alright. He smiled again, and said "Sweet dreams."

Corbitt neatly detached himself from the bunch as per usual at the night's end. He vaguely listened to Penny and Carter, though he didn't at all register what it was they were saying. Somehow it felt more appropriate to give them at least some mental privacy. It was Jenny's voice that captured his attention, though he forced himself to feign ignorance. There was no way in the wide heavens that he could give Jenny the backrub she sought, though he would have loved to. Corbitt stole a glance at the now safely-distracted Carter. When he'd come back from his little adventure on the dance floor, Carter had given him a look that he'd only seen once before. That one other time it had been accompanied by the barrel of a gun. Once they were out the door, Corbitt lagged out of habit, his eyes riveted on the star-spattered skies rather than the road. He'd always loved to watch the slow circling of the constellations, and knew all their names and seasons. Years ago he had learned to navigate by them, to tell the date by them and the time by the position of the moon, if the season was right. They were constant, unwavering, and they comforted him. He was pulled out of his reveries by Jenny's voice speaking a soft compliment to him. Tearing his gaze from one beautiful sight to another, he looked over and she was walking beside him. "Am I?" he laughed in reply. “Well, sure!” Jenny replied, smiling. “Most fellas who come in to dance with me don't know a two-step from a walk in the park.” Corbitt couldn’t help but laugh again. “Thank you, then. But I'm nothin' to you, I'm sure. You picked up a step I didn't even warn you of.” “Well...” Jenny began, looking at her feet to hide a grin. “I get a lotta practice.” There was a moment of silence between the two. A tightness was coming to Corbitt’s chest that he had to rid himself of, so he spoke for the sake of saying something. “Thank you for letting me dance with you.” He couldn’t help but let his eyes drift to her face as he spoke. There was no nervousness in it; she wasn’t looking at him, after all. For the moment, anyway. She brought her eyes back up, and smiled coyly. “Well, what kinda hostess would I be if I didn't?” she asked. Corbitt’s gaze snapped to what lay before him as those sweet, clear blue eyes lighted on him. He tried his hardest to keep a steady countenance. But he could not keep down a small smile as he began, “I didn't...” he stumbled over his words for a moment, but caught his balance. “…expect anything. If you hadn't wanted to, I wouldn't've minded.” His choked down phrase "I didn’t ask you as a bar girl, I just asked you,” rang in his ears. That was a close one, he thought to himself. Jenny didn’t seem to notice, and giggled. “Corbitt, honey, I'm just havin' some fun with ya! I wanted to dance with you.” His smile widened in spite of himself. “I am glad of that.” He replied, locking eyes with her for one electrifying moment. Suddenly, Penny's voice rang out from ahead of them, "Corbitt, if y'all don't pick up the pace, I'm lockin' you out when we get home." "Alright, alright!" Corbitt called back with a hint of laughter in his voice. He turned to Jenny. "We'd better catch up." She giggled again happily, and with a bouncy reply of “Alright. Come on!” she took his hand, and pulled him forward, toward the house. Forcing down a fierce blush, Corbitt let himself be pulled. Talk about cutting my nose to spite my face, he thought, and prayed that he wasn’t overestimating Carter’s gift to make a man awkward.

Sorry, Banana, but I'm gonna have to run you over in the posting order. ^^ (And thank you for your help, almighty Admin. XD) IC:
When Penny's eyes drifted to him, Corbitt locked gazes with her. She seemed almost to be teasing him, or egging him on. It could just be the song, or the atmosphere, or the adrenaline pumping through his veins, but whatever it was made his breathing shallower and his mind inflamed with what he was about to do. As Penny's eyes left his, he slowly got to his feet, took a deep breath, and strode away from the dance floor. He made a beeline for the bar. Making sure that the rich boy from the ranch saw him, he hesitated for a moment as though he would buy a drink, but then turned to Jenny, instead. Just as she looked up, he took one more step toward her, bowed, and offered his hand. "Would you favor me with a dance?" Jenny was shocked for a moment, and looked unsure how to respond. "My goodness, Corbitt!" she smiled slowly, taking his outstretched hand. "How could I say no to such a sweet offer?" A grin spread across his face as she lay her hand in his. He straightened, and began backing toward the dancers, saying "Come away, then" with a brightness to his eyes. At first he fell in with a common step, one that many other couples were dancing. His heart was already pounding, but when Jenny's eyes met his, it absolutely raced. There was nothing for it. "I know you're a good dancer," he said. "so I'm sure you can keep up." His attitude changed drastically, or at least his body language did. The dance he had been moved to remember was from one of his travels as a young man. The steps were quick, light, and made the heels of their boots click like castanets on the hard floor. His hips swung nearly as much as hers did, and they inevitably got closer together as they danced. As he heard the end of the song nearing and Penny's voice rang clear as a bell, he twirled Jenny, round and round, her skirts flying, and he pulled her close, and dipped her as the last chord sounded. He grinned at her smiling face, her eyes shining and her hair falling back from her face like strands of a golden sun. And then, in a twinkling, he set her on her feet, stepped back from her, bent, and kissed her knuckles in a silent thank-you. As he straightened once again, he gave her a mischievous smile and a nod in place of a bow. He turned away, fighting the urge to give her an impish wink, and began to make his way back to his table.

I'm posting now, since I was bashed for being lazy. ^^;;;
As all this began to unfold, Corbitt was playing a mental game of badminton. He couldn't hear what was being said over at the bar, and so he didn't know what to make of it all. He had to admit a tingle of hope as Jenny left the rich boy sitting at the counter to return to her usual occupation of getting groups to buy more whiskey than they needed. That was good. His mental birdie shot to the other side of the net. Or was it? Out of the corner of his eye he saw Tobacco Joe leaning on the counter slightly, looking down on the rancher at the bar. Something in the image of the old bartender looming so menacingly brought a satisfied smirk to his lips, and the birdie returned to the other side of the net. Suddenly, whether is was a chord on the piano or a chord in his mind, something struck. Leaning forward on his elbows, he laced his fingers together and put them before the lower half of his face. He had the racket in hand, and he had an idea.

I'm a postin' X3 IC:
Across the room, Corbitt watched the newcomer out of the corner of his eye. One could hardly help it, as he glittered almost as much as the showgirls. He wrinkled his nose momentarily. As Jenny flounced her way over to greet the man, he could tell Carter was scowling. But then again, when didn't he? Corbitt almost laughed to himself. Almost. As he gazed on, he could see the glint of a trinket being passed from the man's hands to Jenny's. She turned it over, and pinned it to her dress. A brooch... Jenny was smiling that sweet smile of hers, the corners of her eyes softly curving up as she looked up into the rich customer's face. Corbitt's mind suddenly turned to how many times she had smiled for him that way, and he realized it wasn't many. As the two turned and walked side by side, something in the region of his stomach twisted and knotted without warning. He shifted in his seat minutely, and tore his gaze away.

OOC: it would make far more sense you for to post, Ashley, before I do so that Carter and Penny's exchanges are not constantly interrupted by Corbitt's inner monologue. But I'm going to post anyway, so you can't harass me about it later. XD
IC: Corbitt continued to ignore the blatant flirtation, letting his mind drift. His inner eye brought him to places he had been long ago, almost long enough that he did not remember them clearly. First, ropes, and a wooden banister through a thick fog...no, rigging...a sailing ship. There was the sudden roar of the sea on the rocks, and a massive cliff loomed before him. The scene changed. Merciless sunlight, a dirt track road; a man playing a metal drum, a woman in a bright skirt dancing. And again... A thick jungle, the air heavy and full of moisture. The buzz of insects was shocking, all of them falling eerily silent as the sky overhead filled with sudden light and sound. The heavens let loose their fury and torrential rain turned the ground at his feet into a river. Yet again the image faded. Then, a great city, all in celebration. White stone buildings on shining white beaches, the pure blue water lapping at the feet of festival-goers, emerald and gold dancing over those reveling in the shade of the olive-trees. And then, much, much further back, fireflies dancing in an inky summer sky, and a woman's voice singing...singing...
Corbitt snapped out of his memories, looking around. Realizing that he had not drifted away for very long, as he had feared, be settled back into his chair. A small smile came to his lips. When he'd glanced up, his eyes had settled on Jenny. Jenny. Such a sweet girl...and much smarter than most people gave her credit for. He shook his head. Don't be a fool, he told himself. You're an outlaw. She's not going to be thinking about you.

Corbitt was very happy that Jenny drew away quickly after kissing him--it made it so she wouldn't see his reaction. He could feel heat rising to his cheeks, which he begrudgingly fought down. As she skipped away, he couldn't help but notice the way her curly locks caught the light. Clearing his throat almost imperceptibly, he turned away and attempted to compose himself.
His unsuspecting eyes were met with the spectacle of Penny wrapping her arms around Carter. Corbitt let out a hissing breath of air, muttered "it figures," and focused his attention on something else, or attempted to. He had absolutely no problem with the two as a pair. In fact, he was happy that they had become a couple. On the other hand... ah, nevermind, he thought. No need to spoil your mood before a show. He smiled, put his feet up on the table, and settled in to wait.
OOC: OH GOD THE SHORTNESS. >.<

OOC: Like I told you, this might not be cohesive...sorry! X(
IC: Corbitt squirmed as Jenny tended to his cuts, making a face. "Jenny, stop it..." he protested halfheartedly before responding to his friend's remark. "I told you, if you can manage to kill that thing, go ahead an' eat it. Jus' don't come running to me when it poisons you." He fell silent and still as Penny strutted her way out onto the stage. A slow smile began to spread across his face. "I wonder what Carter thinks 'a that costume..." he thought in silence. "Nevermind, I don't wanna know." he revised. "Ow!" he exclaimed as Jenny dabbed at his cheek; it stung. He realized that the rag in her hand was now partially soaked with what could only be pure alcohol. "Jenny!"

OOC: I guess I'll just post...was gonna wait for Zoe, but...I cannot resist! Besides, then Penny can make a grand entrance. ^^ IC:
From outside the bar there was the vague sound of a boots scuffling on the dry ground along with a few husky shouts and a slightly muffled word that those inside could only assume was a curse. After another scuffling sound and a loud hiss, a second young man, this one outlandishly dressed, stumbled inside, backing through the door. "And you stay out there or I swear to God I'll shoot you myself!" He slurred in his thick New Orleans accent. He turned to face the room. Looking disgruntled, he stalked forward and flopped into a nearby chair, his long, faded jacket swirling momentarily as he turned. There was a large claw-mark on his right cheek beneath his eye, red and raw. He was tall and thin, and his brown-shot-with-blonde-and-red hair was pulled back into a tiny ponytail at the nape of his neck. Despite this, most of his hair drooped into his blue-grey eyes. Although he was what could be called handsome, his face was unnervingly interrupted by a scar that went from beneath his chin to the tear-duct of his left eye. He brushed his hair away irritably, and touched the new-formed cuts. With a wince, he pulled his hand away, and there was blood on his fingertips. "Stupid lizard..." he muttered under his breath, and leaned back resignedly in his chair.
