OOC: Fine, Shadie, we can get there now xP
IC:
"Whoa, whoa, whoa... whoa... too many questions... okay... I have no idea how to drive this thing." Drake was trying to hide his inability to answer some of those questions with humor. "We're going to Tasha's house, and she's a 'zombie enthusiast'. She you and I all go to the same school. Your mom can handle herself, and... your dad..." Drake sighed, unable to answer her question.
"We're here..." Drake saw Tasha and a boy sitting inside a truck. Drake parked next to the truck, and opened the door. "You guys wait in the van, I'll be back in a minute." Drake hopped out of the van, and closed the door.
He walked to the truck, and tapped on the driver side window.
OOC: Happy now, sis? xP

Drake sighed and smiled, as he finally heard Cindy's voice. "Well... Tasha told me... wait... Tasha!" Drake turned to Cindy's father and blurted out, "Turn around! We have to go to Tasha's!" Cindy's father continued staring out the window, as he smashed Drake's plans.
"My wife is still at our house, I can't just leave her." "B-but... Tasha knows what to do! For god's sake, if you want your daughter to live, you'd at least drop her off at Tasha's!" Drake grabbed Cindy's father's arm. "Turn it around, please!"
Cindy's father stopped the car, but never turned his gaze from the street. He finally turned the car around, and started to wards Tasha's house. Cindy gulped, as she saw the lone zombie in the park. "D-do we have to go near the park?" She said, starting to shake slightly.
Drake turned around, and saw Cindy's fear clearly. "No, we don't, and we're fine, we're in a va--" Drake was cut off, as a loud 'bang' shattered the window in the back of the van. Cindy's father slammed on the brakes, Cindy screamed, and Drake and the new passenger looked for the source of the noise. Their new passenger pointed to the right of the van, and shouted, "Look!" They all turned their heads to the right, and saw a gathering of people, wearing black hoodies, the hoods pulled over their faces. Some of them held baseball bats, others held knives, and one or two held guns. One of them, clearly the leader, as he was standing in front of all of them, shouted.
"Get out of the god damned car, or we'll pull your dead bodies out!" The leader of the gang walked to wards the van, followed by the rest of the hoodlums. Cindy sobbed, and her father was shaking.
"I said, GET OUT!" The leader pointed his pistol at Cindy's father, and pulled the trigger. Cindy screamed out, "NO!" and wrestled around with her seatbelt, tears streaming down her face. Drake and Jack stared at Cindy's father, as he gripped his bleeding side.
"Do... what he... says..." Cindy's father coughed, and bared his teeth. Cindy finally unbuckled her seatbelt, then opened van door. She jumped out, tears still pouring from her eyes, and opened the driver's door. Drake opened his door, and slowly walked out of the van. Jack did the same. Drake brainstormed for how to get out of there, but nothing would result in him not dying.
"Girly, get the old man out of the freakin'* van, and get over to this side!" The gang leader turned around, and beckoned for certain members to come to wards Drake and Jack. Drake leaned slightly nearer to Jack, while the gang leader still had his back to them, and whispered in his ear. Jack turned to Drake, his eyes wide, and disbelieving, and Drake nodded to him. Jack nodded back. Drake jumped forward, shortly followed by Jack. They each grabbed one of the gang leader's arm's, and Drake grabbed his gun.
Drake pointed the gun to wards the man's head, and screamed out to the gang members.
"Drop your weapons! And lay down!" The gang leader tried to pull free of Drake and Jack's grips, but they held him tightly. "You heard him! Do what he says!" The gang leader ordered. The members dropped their weapons, then layed down to the ground.
"Cindy, get your dad into the back seat." Drake commanded, not turning his gaze from the gang members. Cindy nodded, and helped her dad to his feet. He closed his eyes tightly, and coughed in pain with each step, but made it into the back seat, followed by Cindy. Drake turned to Jack and nodded, and they both pushed the gang leader to the ground, and ran back to the van. Jack jumped in the passenger seat, and slid across to the driver's seat, followed by Jack, who stopped in the passenger seat. Drake handed the gun to Jack, and he pointed it toward the gang leader.
Drake turned the key, not actually having any idea how to drive the van. The van turned on, and he pushed on the gas pedal. The van sped forward, and Drake lifted his foot from the gas. Too far... He pushed lightly, and the van drove slowly forward. He went a bit further, and they were going a good speed. Jack examined the gun, then switched the safety on. He then placed it in his pocket, and sighed, realizing that the gang ordeal was done with. Drake didn't want to see Cindy crying, so he kept his eyes on the road.
"It's just around the corner there... Cindy... I'm... I'm so sorry..." Drake turned the van around a turn, and Tasha's house was in view.
OOC: I have few things to say, so here they are. Holy cow, that's big... Happy now, sis? I know Drake thought of that plan very quickly, but it just shows that he thinks very quickly. xP And I hope it's okay that I severely damaged Cindy's dad. xD

OOC: Yeah Toasty. There are only about four zombies right now, and no one, and I mean no one, could kill a zombie with their bare hands. Remember, we're not heroes.
IC:
It felt like a giant weight had lifted from Drake's stomach. "Thank god... I was so worried about you! I thought... I mean, when I heard you we--" Cindy cut him off and reminded Drake of something very important. "I'd love to talk right now, but that guy is just standing out there!"
Cindy's father pushed on the gas, and they got closer and closer to the stranded teenager. When they got close, Cindy's father spun the steering wheel, and slammed on the breaks.
They swerved into place, the van door pointing directly at the teenager. The young man ran to wards the van, and Cindy swung open the door. He slid in, panting, and sighed.
OOC: Sorry it's so short, but I gotta go, and I would have to role-play as someone I don't really know at all anyway. xP

OOC: Yay, I've never made a character like dat before! ;D Thanks ya Shmoe. Here's a line from Deja Vu which fits perfectly with this next post, "What if you had to tell someone something... but you knew you wouldn't believe you?" "I'd try." Oh, and YAY FOR ADT JOINING!
IC:
Drake was once again torn up into two sides. If I go with him, then he could ruin my plan... if I don't... I might not... make it... "Um... I... have a headache..." Drake grabbed his head and groaned. "You have no idea how many decisions I had to make today... and every decision could end up killing someone..." Cindy's father's eyes widened and he knew his daughter was in danger.
"Get in the car. Now." Cindy's father demanded. Drake opened the door of the van, sat inside and closed the door. "What I'm about to tell you... you'll never believe... but your daughter could be in serious danger because of it... so you have to listen... there's a zombie in the park."
Cindy's father slammed on the breaks, and turned to stare at Drake. "What the hell are you talking about?" "You need to believe me, I'm telling the truth! Unless you want to just let your doughtier stay in danger, put your right foot... on the right pedal..." Drake was starting to think it might be faster to go on foot, when Cindy's father suddenly slammed on the gas. Now we're back in business!
"D-d-did they... bite you?!" "No, I got bloody by trying to save your daughter's life, but I'll be fine." Drake became aware of his knee wounds, and how much they hurt. Drake saw the park in the distance, and he realized...
Cindy might not be okay... He squinted and saw somebody... somebody holding firmly onto a bike... Oh god... if it's Cindy... she's in danger... if it's not... we'll never find her... Drake gulped and tried to figure out who the figure was. They got closer, and saw the stumbling figure in the park...
Drake glimpsed at Cindy's father, and he was shaking considerably. They got a little closer, and Drake got a good look at the person staring at the park.
"IT'S CINDY!" Drake shouted, and opened the door. "CINDY, GET AWAY FROM THE PARK!"

OOC: That's some nice zombie-ness, Evey! ;D Time for Drake to freak out xD IC: "Er... uh... ahem... no sir, I'll be fine." Drake finally blurted out. "Is Cindy home?" Cindy's father looked at him with an unbelieving look on his face. "I'm afraid not, young man, what did you want with her?" Drake's heart sank, as he realized he nearly killed himself, for nothing. Drake disregarded the man's question, and asked his own. "Where'd she go?" He almost demanded. "S-she went to the park... are you sure you're okay?" Drake just stood there, his eyes widening with every passing millisecond. Cindy's father asked again, "Are you okay?" but Drake continued to stare at him. She... she went to the park... no... why would she go to the park at this hour? Unless... she knew... but... why?! If she knew, why would she endanger her own life? Drake finally collapsed to his knees, and the tears he had held back all day poured out of his eyes. "W-why?! Why did she have to go?! What was she thinking?!" Cindy's father began to stare at the young boy, now sobbing at his doorstep. He wanted to speak, but he couldn't make the words come out. Drake did his best to stop the tears, and he wiped his eyes, his arm was now dripping wet. "I-I-I've gotta... go... I'm... sorry for the... trouble..." Drake stood up, and nodded a goodbye to the man he had just sobbed in front of. Drake turned around, and began limping toward the park. He knew he should just go to Tasha's, but somehow, he knew he had to do everything possible to save Cindy. He had to protect her, he had to. OOC: I tried to make him a character you could feel sorry for, and relate to, but I think I made him more... blah... C( )D

Drake ran down the sidewalk, as fast as he possibly could. His heart pounded horrifically fast, his legs throbbed, and the world blurred past him. What if I'm too late? What if I run into a zombie? So many things could go wrong... and after I get her, what if we can't make it to Tasha's? Oh god... this is all really happening... zombies... I'm going to save someone from zombies!
Drake was running too fast, and thinking too much to notice the rock on the sidewalk. His foot hit the rock, he landed on his knees and slid almost a foot and a half. Pebbles riddled his knees, and blood was smeared along his old jeans. The pain was unbelievable, but he had to go on. He got back up, and tried to run, but his knees felt like fire. He bit his lower lip and began to limp as fast as he could. Every footstep hurt beyond words, but he knew he had to do it. He finally saw Cindy's house in the distance.
It's almost done... I'm almost there... Drake limped closer and closer, his pain and terror; gone, just for a moment, as he knocked on the door.
The doorknob began to turn and Drake just realized that he was dressed terribly, and covered with blood. The door opened, and there he was, Cindy's father, standing in the doorway.

OOC: Nuuuuuu, don't go, Cindy! xD I was hoping someone would be Cindy, because it would make everything more interesting, and having it be joo is coo'. IC: Drake gripped his dad by the shoulders and shook him wildly. "Dad, get up, come on, get up!" Drake shook his dad harder and harder, but he wouldn't wake up. Suddenly, Drake's mind sprang into action, and he remembered that his dad took sleeping pills, and nothing could wake him after that. His heart began to pound harder and faster with each passing second. What am I gonna do... Yet again, his mind jumped into action, this time a little too much action. Almost at the same time, he thought of Cindy and Tasha. His mind began to rip itself apart, trying to decide what to do. I have to save my dad, but Cindy... and Tasha, she could save me... I don't know! Drake collapsed on the ground, grasping his head. He closed his eyes tightly, somehow thinking that would help. Eventually, he opened his eyes, and let go of his head. He jumped up and ran to his backpack. He rummaged through his backpack and eventually pulled out a sheet of paper and a pen. He jotted down a quick note, then ran back into the living room. He placed the note on the coffee table then ran outside. OOC: Wanna know what the note said? Dad, went to pick up Cindy. If you want to reach me, call Tasha. DO NOT GO OUTSIDE.

Drake arrived at his father's house in the mid-afternoon, but he wished he could have stayed out. He stared at the small hovel he called 'home' for a few moments, before deciding he should go inside. He turned the plain doorknob, opened and eventually closed the plain door. He pulled off his backpack and placed it by the door, and headed toward the kitchen, when he heard a loud moaning, coming from the living room. He crept into the living room, and saw his dad, asleep on the couch, with a zombie flick on TV. He was ashamed that he half thought there would be a zombie in his own living room. He was just about to turn off the TV, when there was a news break. The female reporter sat at the news desk, and, obviously, gave the news. "Fanatics continue to preach of the Apocalypse, and now, we have proof." Drake stared at the screen, and his mouth dropped agape as the footage was played on-screen. The video showed the park in the middle of Centoria, originally named Centoria Park. Far in the background was a shambling figure, the camera zoomed in to show the figure more clearly. The figure was missing an arm, and blood stained his torn up clothes. It turned it's head toward the camera, and began shambling toward it. At that point, the footage cut out. "Holy... crap..." Drake's eyes nearly filled with tears, as he saw the horrifying footage. He pulled his gaze away from the TV and began trying to figure out what else it could have been. He figured it must have been a hoax, someone in a costume, trying to fool everyone. But the arm... the arm was missing, and that couldn't be faked by just anyone. This was real, that was a real zombie.

Drake raised his left eyebrow, and replied, "Uh... I'm not insane, so no." "Eh, shut up... LAWSOT made some sorta zombies, and they got loose, or something." Drake rolled his eyes and walked away from the student. "Hey, it's true!" The student yelled. "You'll be sorry when you don't prepare!"

Our story takes place within the large city of Centoria, it was just your average city, hustling and bustling people filled the streets, taxis roamed free, and cars were packed together in the streets. If our story picked up here, it would be rather boring, so lets skip forward a few years. In the year of 2014, in the very same city, a company named LAWSOT Co. was working on a serum, they called it Derangirum, and they believed it would expand the human lifetime at least 500 years longer. During the testing of Derangirum, a scientist who had been working a 42 hour shift, injected the serum into a test subject. But thanks to working for 42 hours, that scientist put twice the amount of serum he was supposed to. The test subject began to complain of a pain in his arm, where the Serum was injected, after a little over an hour, and when the scientist examined it, his skin had turned a purple-brown color. The scientist was worried, but he convinced the subject that he was fine. Four hours went by, since the pain started, and the subject had a fever of 100 degrees, and he began experiencing chills, slight dementia and acute pain in his joints. An hour past and he vomited for the first, but not last time. Two more hours, and his fever was at 106 degrees, his extremities were completely numb, increased dementia and he began to lose muscle coordination. The scientist knew that something was wrong, and he began to sweat considerably. Three hours passed, and the subject was paralyzed in his lower body, the numbness had spread all across his body and his heart rate had slowed considerably. Five more hours, and the subject had gone into a coma. The scientist had no idea what to do, so he just kept watching the subject for four hours, then... the test subject suffered cardiac arrest, and was unable to be revived. Derangirum, was a failure, and the scientist was horrified. But the cardiac arrest was nothing, compared to what happened three hours later. The subjects eyes opened and his heart began to beat.
Centoria, would never be the same.

Post by Zoodle on Feb 13, 2008 19:43:46 GMT -5
Warning: This RP is "loosely" based on The Matrix.
June 16th, 2010: A nuke hits New York, killing over seven million people. Hours later, a second nuke hits Washington DC, destroying the White House. The president, along with 500,000 people, were killed in the blast, pushing America over the edge, into civil unrest.
June 28th, 2010: Rebels create a headquarters within the ruins of New York, and begin building a makeshift bomb. Meanwhile, the government barely keeps the rest of America in check, and promises an amazing celebration on Independence Day.
July 2nd, 2010: The rebels finish their bomb, and decide to plant it in Chicago, where the government had decided to hold the Independence Day celebration.
July 3rd, 2010: The rebels plant the bomb with the fireworks, camouflaging it as best they can.
July 4th, 2010: The bomb explodes with the fireworks, causing extreme amounts of damage, much more than previously estimated by the rebels. Millions are killed, most of them civilians, and America finally tips over the edge, and fights break out in the streets of major cities.
July 10th, 2010: The death count rises to 5,000,000, and the population of America reaches an all time low, at approximately 1,000,000. No signs of civilized life are present, as major cities become ghost towns, and makeshift towns are created in the ruins of destroyed cities.
October 14th, 2010: Suddenly, an organization called LAWSOT pops up in Miami, with technologies so much more advanced than the rest of the country, people wondered if they were from the future, or superhuman.
July 1st, 2011: LAWSOT begins kidnapping random civilians, for testing. None of them ever leave the facility.
July 4th, 2011: LAWSOT sends out abduction teams to gather everyone in America back to their facilities. The civilians fight back, but eventually, everyone is gathered into LAWSOT's facilities, and for the first time in human history, every house in America is completely empty.
July 10th, 2011: The civilians are forced into a cyber world, but after severe rebellion within this other world, LAWSOT is forced to wipe the memories of a small group of test subjects. After the memory wipe, the test subjects reacted perfectly to the cyber world.
July 11th, 2011: The civilians all have their memories wiped, and then are forced back into the cyber world, where they live peacefully with one another.
July 4th, 2012: A small group of people become aware of The fact that they aren't in the real world. They will their physical body to unplug themselves from the cyber world. They steal a few pieces of technology, such as computers and radios, and escape the facility. They head up north, and create a tiny outpost in Tampa.
July 20th, 2012: The group call themselves the Hackers, and stay true to their name, hacking into the cyber world, and changing it for the rest of humanity. They leave small clues, hoping people will follow them to freedom.
July 21st, 2012: LAWSOT severs all connections to the Hacker camp, but not before a handful of civilians find their way out of the cyber world, and into Tampa. LAWSOT begins their search for the Hacker camp.
July 28th, 2012: The Hackers recreate the machines that place people within the cyber world, and manage to get themselves back inside. A few people stay in the Hacker camp, some to monitor them, others to keep watch for LAWSOT. They manage to hack the Hackers within the cyber world, and give them complete freedom over the world around them. Now it is war within the cyber world.
Well, that was a lot of history! Ahem, well, you can all pop in however and whenever you want, but for now, I've gotta take a break from all this typing!
