Loni frowned, seemingly thinking for a moment. Then she grinned at Nonko, saying quietly through her teeth, "Trust me, I'm an expert..... storyteller." She winked.
"Okay, sir, let me have a look at you." She walked up to the old man.
"Just don't stab me with anythin'!" He shouted at where he guessed her general direction would be, which happened to be at a bookcase on the other end of the room.
"Okay, I promise. Just let me look at you." She gently held his chin and looked at him from all angles. "Hmm.... tsk...... mmm, yes...... of course. Just what I thought." She stood back and told him with total confidence, "Tuna is most definately not what you need. I think that the best thing for you now is to resign yourself to your niece's care, and eat whatever she says would be good for you. She knows what is best. Trust me, I know about these things." She patted him on the shoulder. "And I think you should refrain from throwing things unnessicarily, as it would hinder Miss Noko from taking care of you fully."
The man scowled for a moment, then his face softened. "Well... if it's best." he replied.
"It's best." With that she strode off to join Noko on the kitchen. "How was that?"

Noko was leaning over the counter, unmoving except for the shake of her shoulders, "Oh my gosh." She straightened and smiled, "That was great. You really know what you're doing huh?" She took out a cabbage and some lettuce and began arranging it all in four bowls. "My cousin should be home soon. He's off doing some construction work right now. He's an okay guy I suppose. Of course the fact that he's family hinders me from being able to know how he treats people. Would you like some carrots in here?"
OOC: I think after your next post we should wait for Tali, don't you? (where are you Taliesin?)

ic:The three officials stood in front of a cloaked figure with their hands on their swords. They were all standing on a worn path right outside Lorean. One of the officials stepped forward and with an angry tone, "where do you think your going? We've heard plenty about you and we're going to take you in!" The cloaked figure stood silent. The figure was completely cloaked except for a snout potruding out of his hood. He suddenly stepped forward cuasing everyone to jump back; they were all obviously frightened becuase of his towering height above theirs. "Cowards," he growled; his sharp teeth were revealed as he spoke. All three of the officials unsheathed their swords and stood in fighting stances. "You dare fight Karkais?" he asked and then revealed all of his teeth as his devilish grin appeared.
Taliesin stroded down a street looking around for a place that could potentially have information on his target.
ooc: sorry about how long that took..

OOC: No problem, just glad you posted ^^ IC:
Loni smiled and leaned against the counter. "Doesn't matter to me. Food is food, right? Unless you're talking about my mother's cooking. I don't even KNOW what that stuff is." She laughed.
"You know, it's really nice to be in a home again. I've been on the road for a while now, so all I've really seen are roads, woods and the occasional inn."

OOC: Hey Taliesin! Good to see ya again.
"Well, you're more than welcome," Noko said cheerfully, "Just don't stay around the streets at night too often by yourself. There's a pretty scary person out there. I don't know his name though. Luckily I heard that he has a bounty on his head so hopefully he won't plague the village for much longer." She finished making the four meals and handed one to Loni. Noko then took two more into the living room.
"Hey Bill did you bring my paper!?" her uncle snapped.
"Yes sir, here it is," Noko replied with a smile, handing him the food.
"Thanks," he replied before putting his hand into the bowl and stuffing his face. Noko blushed from embarrassment.
"Um, sorry he's not the most tidy eater," Noko apologized.

"Oh, don't worry about it. I can't say I'm the most refined person either." Loni grinned and took a bite. "And don't worry about me running across that scary person, either. I've come across much more than my fair share of freaky evil weirdos over the years, and I'm somehow still fully intact."
She took another bite. First her mind drifted to Velsar Hialvu, her first encounter with unbridled darkness. Still, her thoughts didn't linger on him for long. She thought abut her much more recent encounter with someone who in her mind was nothing but evil: Edrian Blake. She had come across him multiple times, all of them relating to Thief. The worst...
She inwardly flinched. He posessed Thief. Edrian was a demon, and one of the worst people she had ever come across. His hair was lon and red and his eyes were an ungodly shade of icy blue. She got chills just thinking of that awful, piercing stare. His laugh alone could make her feel cold all over. Every time I see him, something in my life goes bad, and usually Thief gets hurt.
She didn't realize it, but her eyes got sadder and her mouth fell into a gradual frown.

The three officers ran forth in a synchronised fashion seemingly well--trained by their superiors. Unfortunately, their training was not enough asbecame apparrent when there bodies fell to the ground one after another and their heads rolled along the dusty path.
Taliesin stepped into a small tavern. Stares fell upon him as he walked into the place. The talk suddenly went silent as the men began to recognise their visitor. "Has anyone heard of a man named Karkais?" He asked. Nothing but silence followed. A man stood up as Taliesin turned to leave, "I don't know a Karkais but I'm willing to bet that he's the stranger who's been murdering the townspeople here at night. You should go ask the people in the small shack down the street," he said pointing a finger to Taliesin's left, "someone we think might be him has been hanging around there lately."
Taliesin walked out of the Tavern and began heading down the street.
ooc: BA is getting interesting over at FE... just incase you wanted to know Keeney... or rather... incase you wanted to reply sometime this year lol

OOC: Okay, I will tomorrow. Oh, and do they happen to mean Noko's house by 'the shack down the street'? Oh dear, let's hop Karkais doesn't kill them, because Noko is a very useless fighter. I think she'll like Taliesin though.
IC: Noko sighed, "Yeah. Hey, are you alright? You look very sad." She looked upon Loni with worry.
Suddenly a tall man walked through the door. He had messy short brown hair, atop a very freckled face, "Hey Noko, there's a strange looking man coming toward our house, do you know who he is?" He looked at his uncle expectantly, having not been yelled at, and sighed when he found him to be asleep with his hand in a salad bowl.
"Did you recognise him?" Noko wondered. "Possibly he's one of uncle's friends."
"My dad doesn't have any friends Noko. And no, I did not recognise him, but why would I? I work for a man down the road, I hardly ever enter the village," her cousin replied.
"Hm, Loni, if you'll excuse me for a moment. This is my cousin Carter by the way. Carter, this is Loni. Be nice to her," Noko instructed, walking out of the shack into the open air. She searched for this man that Carter had spoken of.

Taliesin stopped in front of the shack that the man mentioned earlier. Taliesin walked through the open door without warning, startling the people that were inside. "Do any of you know a man named Karkais?" he asked examining all of them. "I hear that he was prowling around here the last couple of days."
ooc: There's no hurry for you to post over at FE, Keeney. You're in the side-plot lol

OOC: I'll assume that he's addressing Loni, Carter and da uncle d00d IC:
"Well how's that for a polite greeting." Loni said, not even bothering to mutter. "No, I don't know who this person is, I'm new in town. Thanks for the warm welcome."
Carter shooke his head. "No, I don't know anyone named Karkais."
Before Carter or the newcomer could say anything else, Loni... showed her true colors. "You know what, I don't know if you even have the right to barge into someone's home without their permission. And then you come in here and accuse us of something we don't even know of. Lemme tell ya something, you aren't winning any friends that way. Not much cooperation, either. Now, as a knight, " A little white lie couldn't hurt... "it is my duity to protect civillians. When you come in here, accusing me of things and interuppting me, you make it very hard. I've had more than my fair share of battling evil people, saving innocent souls and all that, and I'm not about to stop now. So, either get out of this house now, or try to search the house for this felon and fail, get embarrased and leave while I laugh at you, but just leave sometime this CENTURY, got it?"

Taliesin began examining his surroundings oblivious to Loni's words. "He's a tall shady figure," Taliesin began before Loni even finished her words, "Has anyone seen anyone suspicious like that?" His voice was very calm and polite when he talked since he didn't want to spook anyone.

Noko ran back in, pushing some of her bangs away, "O-Oh! Hello!" She bowed politely. (she wasn't there for Loni's rant) "Did you ask something about a tall shady figure?"
Carter shot Noko a look, "Cousin, don't go mingling with strangers."
Noko waved her brother off and walked up to Taliesin, "I have heard a bit about a character like that. He stalks the streets at night, and he's really strong. He's been a menace to the village for a while now." Her eyes sparkled, "Are you going to help us sir?"
Her cousin grabbed her wrist and pulled her away, "Noko! That's enough!" She struggled in his hold.
"But Carter, he really could help us! Maybe he and Loni could team up and get rid of that weirdo!" Noko argued. Carter held her still, giving her a warning glance before turning to Taliesin again.
"Sir, I'd like it if you'd leave," Carter said softly. Noko glared at her cousin so coldly ice could have formed on her lashes.

Loni shot Noko a look. "Noko, Carter, if you please. I'd like to deal with this myself."
She stepped toward Taliesin, turning back to her hosts. "I'll only be a minute." Turning back to this newcomer, she added, "Will you concent, or are you intent on lingering in this home well past your welcome?"

Taliesin watched as Noko entered the room. His attention was immediately caught at the mention of a tall shady figure. Once again Taliesin brushed aside Loni's words along with Carter's, "where did you last see this man that you speak of?" he asked Noko.
