OOC: Hokay, that other thread died, so I'm strting a brand new one! The basic idea is a semi-formal get-togethr at Sadria's inn. You all know the rules: no adventuring, no dramatic plot twists and no fighting (at least not with weapons lol) This is meant to stay in the inn, though that doesn't mean social interaction doesn't turn dramatic sometimes ^^
Let's go!
IC:
Sadria busied herself wiping down counters and tables and cleaning mugs, waiting for her guests to arrive. She was wearing an ice blue linen shirt and a long dove gray velvet skirt, which was unusually formal for her. Mercifully, she'd managed to keep it clean while she tidied up. "Expecting your guests any time soon? I'm getting bored." the voice of a young Irish woman asked her. "Yeah... I wonder what's keeping them." Sadria replied, turning to Blair. She was sprawled in a chair twirling her whistle. Also unusually, she was wearing a nice dark green colored wool blouse and a pair of green breeches. "Ah, don't worry. You know the lot, of course they'd be late." She grinned and played a few short notes on her whistle. "They're probably off slaying a last minute monster before rescuing a village from destruction before coming here." "Ah, the freedom! I haven't gone on any sort of adventure since I opened the inn!" Sadria grinned back, tossing her rag onto the counter. "I miss all of those near-death experinces!"

OOC: You can bet I'm gonna drag the whole dysfunctional family into this one. And June, and Shmoie (don't know how she knew about it or how she got all the way to Sadria's inn xD Oh well, maybe Blair had something to do with it), and lotsa other people. ^^ Fun idea!! (I'd join right now but I gotta dry my hair before the party, and pack up the books on my bookshelf cuz my dad's moving this weekend.)

OOC: Kay. Blair isn't REALLY Blair in this, she's medieval version of her ^^ But when you bring in Eve and Derik, you can bring in Loni as well

OOC: Oh, thank you! ^^ Wow... I get temporary ownership of Loni... o.o *pets Loni's head disbelievingly* *gasp* You're real!! You're really, really real!! Oh, and, *clears throat* I do believe that with the posting of this post you are thereby relieving me of one of my... offenses, shall we call them? *sly smile* IC: The door banged open barely before Sadria could get the words out, and Eve leaned through into the room, grinning ear to ear. "Did someone mention near-death expiriences?" she laughed, walking inside, followed by a slightly subdued-looking Derik and finally Loni, wearing her usual mild smile. The whole family was dressed up a little more than usual; Derik was wearing a long cloak over his usual dark tunic and leggings, a silver belt fastened around his waist. Loni, too, was dressed in somewhat regular attire, with a long wool skirt, a pair of boots and a loose-fitting shirt, with her hair braided down her back. Eve, however, was the greatest surprise, in a forest green dress, its sleeves long and draping, with a laced up bodice. Her hair loose around her shoulders, she looked up at Sadria with an embarassed smile. "Not my idea, as I'm sure you've already guessed," she said flatly. "It's almost as bad as the infamous red tunic from the Christmas party." She looked down at herself. "Almost." The three approached the counter. "Sadria, you've met Derik, Derik, you've met Sadria," Eve continued, gesturing behind her. Derik smiled in greeting, still looking a little nervous. "And of course you know Loni," Eve added, laughing again. "And oh, in case I haven't said it yet, it's wonderful to see you again, Sadria! We don't spend near enough time together; how has the inn been doing?"

OOC: Hmm... I'll omit "lolz", but as for Sweet Sauce..... I don't know... lol
IC:
Sadria caught her good friend in a warm hug. "It HAS been too long. The inn's doing fine... translation: I'm bored." She laughed, stepping back. "Why do you THINK I put together this get together." She winked at Loni who smiled and rolled her eyes. "Hey, I'm trying!"
"Well you're not trying hard enough, otherwise you wouldn't have thought that what you said was clever." came the reply which was blunt and sharp at the same time. She was still smiling however, which meant she was only teasing.
"Oh, yeah. I guess you're right. I just forgot." Sadria quipped back. "Well, what about you, Derik? I don't see nearly enough of you around here."
"Oh, I'm doing fine. Thanks." He smiled weakly, obviously feeling a bit out of place.
"Sheesh, Derik. Feeling a bit anti-social tonight?" Loni inquired with a raised eyebrow.
He sighed and whispered to her, "Hey, I'm just a little uncomfortable in this setting, okay?"
"OH, that's right. I forgot you were a shut-in." she teased, nodding her head knowingly.
Before Derik could make a hot headed retort, Blair popped up behind Sadria, an inquisitive expression on her face. "Now who've we got here, Sadie?"
"Honestly, where's my head tonight? Blair, this is Eve, Derik and Loni." She gestured to each of them in turn. "Everyone, this is my good friend Blair. She comes in often to entertain the guests."
"Aye, I humbly offer my sevices in song and piping to all willing to hear... and maybe toss a few coins my way." She grinned, twirling her whistle between her fingers.
"We met when she came in the first time to play. We got talking, and now she's a regular here. But now that I have guests, I should probably offer them a drink. What'll you have? It's all on the house tonight." Sadria smiled at them, hoppong back behind the counter.
"Well, do you have anything without alcohol in it?" Loni asked, turning to her parents with a grin.
"Um, cider, then?"
"Cider's fine."

OOC: It's my fault this died. ~.~ So... quite a bit late, I shall reply.
IC:
Eve coughed. "Yes, cider's very fine, indeed." She turned to her daughter briefely. "Remember the last time Sadria threw a party, Loni? Mm, I'd rather not have a repeat of that, if it's all the same." Turning back to Sadria, she cupped a hand to one side of her mouth and mouthed, "You think she's bad sober? On a hangover... she's..." she shuddered to emphasize her point.
"I heard that." said Loni darkly.
"So," Eve continued, voice raised as she tried to hide a wince, "Blaire, is it? Pleasure to meet you." She smiled sincerely. "I know another certain jolly someone who entertains at inns, occasionally... is she coming, do you know?"
Now it was Derik's turn to wince. "Um... yes, do you know?"
OOC: I somehow don't think Derik would like June very much. xD

OOC: Yay!! Ooh... do you think we should bering a certain NEW friend into the party....? ^^
IC:
Sadria laughed, filling a few mugs full of hot cider behind the counter. "Well, I don't know for sure whether she's coming or not, but I'm not about to rule out the possibility! You know how strange these meetings can get. Here you go..." She placed the mugs in front of each patron, wiping up some spilled cider with a rag.
"Well... I for one REALLY hope she comes!" Loni said with a phony grin. "I miss her SO much!"
The company chuckled and Blair inquired, "Now, who is this you're all talking about?"
Sadria sighed, shaking her head with a smile, "Jolly June."
"Who now?"
"June. She's a bard like you... except not like you."

"She MEANS well," Eve admitted, "and in small doses, she's really very sweet... in... small doses."
"Sadria!" came a high, jovial voice from the door of the inn. "Eve!" And, speak of the devil, June came dancing across the room, grinning from ear to ear. "Oh, and jolly old Loni and Derik, as well! It's so jolly good to see you all again!" An arm slung companionably around Eve's shoulders, she piped, "What's good in small jolly doses, now?"
Eve grinned nervously. "... Cider!" she finally supplied. "This... fine cider that Sadria here has supplied us with! It's just delicious when you take little sips... but if you drink too much of it, you uh, you might burn your tongue."
Derik coughed loudly in the middle of a sip, spitting his cider into his lap.
Eve nodded to her husband. "You see?"

Loni laughed out loud, as did Sadria. "Yeah, that cider's just great. Just can't get enough of it, can you Derik?" Loni asked, nudging him in the side.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah. I just LOVE cider!" He winked at her and they shared a laugh.
"Now, is this that June you were talking about?" Blair asked, hopping up next to them. "I'm Blaire, pleased to meet you. They tell me you're a bard, too."
OOC: Shall I bring in our friend? ^^ That aught to liven things up!

OOC: YES. Happy? -.- I gave you a typed-out response and everything. Jeez.
IC:
June beamed, of course oblivious to the cider joke. "I suppose I jolly well am! I'm jolly delighted to make your aquaintance!" She turned to Sadria happily. "Um, Sadria, my jolly friend, would you mind pouring me a jolly bit of cider, as well? Thank you so very jolly much!"
Derik was cringing a little with every 'jolly', and even Eve looked as though the encounter was already bordering, in her mind, on a bit more than a 'small dose'.

OOC: LOL THINK you. I hope somebody else joins... It's lonely with just us!
IC:
Loni sighed shaking her head and sat down. This is too much. she thought. This is just crazy. These things are ALWAYS crazy.
"Mind if I crash this party?" a voice asked from the doorway. Lon i turned, and immediately jumped up, dashing to the person standing there.
"Quinn!" she shouted excitedly, throwing her arms around his neck.
"Oof.." He put his arms around her middle, catching her. "Missed you..."
"I missed you more."
"Well, I can't argue with that."
"You shut up."

Eve and Derik both whirled to see what had caused the sudden commotion; when they saw it was Quinn, Derik smiled companionably, happy to see that someone had arrived to whom he could relate. "Nice to see you again, Quinn," he said, standing up and leaning against the counter, finally able to relax.
Eve looked slightly less at ease, fingers tightening around her cup. She was fond of Quinn, as a person, but the public displays of affection exchanged between her daugher and him still bothered her a little. Still, she felt it was best to laugh it off, and looked over her shoulder with an exhaspterated sigh. "God, Loni, you're embarassing me in front of my friends."
OOC: Has June met Quinn? I know she's met Thief but I don't know if the same meeting takes place but with Quinn or not.

OOC: SAH-ree. Sheesh.
IC:
The couple walked to the others at the counter, both feeling considerably more happy than they had just moments ago.
"Hullo Derik." Quinn greeted, his arm around Loni's shoulders.
"Embarassing you? Whatever do you mean? You couldn't possibly mean things like this..." Loni turned to Quinn and, placing a hand on the back of his neck drew him down toward her so that their lips met in a simple kiss. "... could you?"
She and Quinn both laughed, both posessing the particular sense of humor that seemed to aggrivate Eve more than anything.
Derik Sighed and shook his head, chuckling. "Hey, I'm still getting used to all this Quinn business myself."
Sadria also laughed, commenting, "Looks like we've found someone Loni can get along with for more than five minutes."
"Ah, you should have seen her when we first met though." Quinn replied. "You don't know what I went through before I convinced her it was easier to be nice to me. Dunno how I did it now..." the lot of them laughed and Loni rolled her eyes.
