Eve laughed softly at Sadria's appraisal of her hot-tempered daughter. "Hahaha, don't let Loni hear you say that!... And yes, she's her moody self, as always." She smiled fondly. "But she's definetely warmed up to me and Derik quite a bit since we first adopted her... she's adjusting, slowly but steadily." She sighed. "I already miss the little hellraiser, as you so adequately put it."

"Oh, so you have a little 'hellraiser', too?" Inquired Limlight, as she crossed her arms over her stomach, leaning back in her chair.

Eve nodded. "Yes... she's 14 now... we, that is to say, me and my husband Derik, adopted her just after we were married." She smiled. "She's not the most sentimental person, but she's a girl after my own heart, in many ways. I'm training her in different forms of combat... she'll make a fine knight someday, I'm sure of it." She blinked, and looked down at her lap, still smiling proudly. "I'm sorry. If there's one thing I can go on and on about, it's Loni." OOC: awwwwwww... it's gonna be SO CUTE when this happens...

"Oh, don't be ashamed! I love hearing about her. You know, as, well... blunt as she can be, I can tell that she's really a good girl. I don't mind one bit." Sadria smiled. "You know, as much of a loner as I am, I do envy you."

"Haha!" Laughed Limlight. "You're daughter and my little 'hellraiser' sound very similar! And if there's one thing I can go on and on about, it's Raoul!" She smiled warmly at Eve. "Of course, I'm not married or anything, Raoul is my half-brother." She said. "I think Loni sounds like a hot-tempered, but kind person to me. You must love each other a lot." OOC: Awwww! This is so sweet! lol.

Eve gave a half-shrug, eyes downcast, though she was still grinning softly. "Ah, she's kind in her own way... she hides it, but she's a pretty emotional girl... of course, she'd hate to hear I was talking about her so openly, but she doesn't need to know." She winked at Sadria, then added on a more serious note, "But Sadria, my friend, let's not delve into the issue of envy here... suffice it to say that we both have our weaknesses, and we both have our strengths." Her steely gray-blue eyes were as solemn and sincere as ever, as she continued. "There are things I miss about my wandering days... things I'd give anything to expirience again... the sun on your back, the wind in your hair, the feeling of boundless freedom as you stare down from a hilltop, the world at your feet. That's partially why I took this little journey on my own... to re-live those priceless sensations." She smiled and patted her friend's hand. "So, call us even."
OOC: hah, it seems I write some of my better stuff late at night xD

"I suppose you're right." Sadria replied with a soft smile. "But something I can tell you is this: when you have someone you can have both worls with, someone you can experience all of those freedoms and emotions with, you should never let them go. Things are rarely that good, and when they are you are extremely lucky." She seemed to be staring off into nothing with a sad smile, lost in reminiscence. "You never forget what it's like, and the memories make you stronger, and weaker. They are so wonderful to re-live, but when you have to come back to reality the sting can be almost as bad as the first."

Limlight quickly brushed a tear away from her eye. "Ummm...Sadie, are you alright? You don't...uh...l-look to well." She said both quietly and nervously. She glanced at Eve, waiting for something to happen...she never had given a thought that something like this might have ever happened to Sadria, who had always been her playful, happy friend, and, almost like a sister to her.

OOC: *sigh* Lim, MUST you put smilies at the end of all your posts? It's a bit... weird. LOL
IC:
Eve smiled sadly at her friend, and reached across the bar counter to give her hand an affectionate squeeze. "It's just tragic memories, miss Limlight," she said, not looking at the girl, instead keeping her eyes focused intently on Sadria. "Memories that are better off not repeated... Sadria, I know I can't possibly say anything that would make it all better for you. But I'm going to make an attempt; hopefully at least watching me stumble over my words will bring you some measure of comfort." She said, now addressing the friend who she had so much in common with. " I... couldn't imagine losing Derik. But I know that, if I did, I wouldn't be able to deal with the loss near as well as you have. So, know that, if he could see you now, he'd be proud to see how strong you've been. He'd be happy to see that you moved on, and made friends, even got yourself a lovely new Inn." She winked, eyes gleaming wetly. "And just know that, if there's ever a time you need to be around people who can bring you joy in times of sorrow... our house is always welcome to you."

Sadria swallowed hard, years of held back tears shining in her eyes. "Thank you, Eve. You can't possibly imagine how much that means to me." Her voice was slightly hoarse as she spoke. She took a deep, wavering breath and rubbed her eyes.
Forcing a chuckle she said, "It's silly for me to get worked up right now. I'm fine. Don't worry."
